Wootzano Limited, a Scottish company in Edinburgh with its manufacturing base in Sedgefield, County Durham, was created to improve the way medicine is administered. This gave rise to the Nanject (previously known as Nanopatch) project which originated from an undergraduate thesis, aiming to create a pharmaceutical patch that can deliver drugs replacing traditional needles or syringes with nanoneedles. Today, Wootzano has a novel patent-pending technology for use in flexible electronics, robotics, electronic skin, medical devices, chemical/bio-sensing and drug delivery systems.

Wootzano is looking for a motivated Device Design and Simulation Engineer to work on a novel force/pressure sensor, which our company has developed.

The candidate will be working on modelling & designing prototypes of our novel sensors. This novel technology will enable never-before-possible haptic and tactile feedback for robots, prosthetics, and smart surfaces. The project gives an opportunity for the candidate to work with cutting-edge technology that will solve real-world problems that industry face on a daily basis.

What are we looking for?

  • Material Characterisation

  • PhD, MEng, BEng in Mechanical Engineering or related, PhD preferred

  • Excellent communication skills

Desirable skills
