Wootzano shortlisted for Digital Engineering Technology Award!



Wootzano has been shortlisted for the Digital Engineering Technology Award at the Insider's Made in the North East Awards 2023.

The award has been running for over a decade and recognises the high-quality products and services provided by manufacturing and engineering firms, as well as the skilled employees who work for them. There are several award categories:


  • Apprentice of the Year.

  • Automotive Aerospace and Rail Award.

  • Digital Engineering / Technology Award.

  • Export Award.

  • Food & Drink Award.

  • Manufacturing Apprenticeship / Training Scheme Award.

  • Manufacturing Innovation Award.

  • Medical, Life Sciences and Health Care Award

  • Sustainable / Ethical Manufacturer Award

  • Manufacturer of the Year (Under £25m)

  • Manufacturer of the Year (Over £25m)

Wootzano has previously won the Digital Engineering Technology Award in 2020 for their electronic skin, Wootzkin, a highly sensitive e-skin that enables robots to feel as humans do. The judges were impressed by the increased production and scale-up of the electronic skin manufacturing process to more than 180 a day. Wootzano is hoping to win this year's award for their cutting-edge system, Avarai, which has already sparked a lot of interest in the agricultural industry due to its ability to alleviate the long-term labour struggle. With so many fantastic companies making it to the finals this year, competition is going to be tight, making for an exciting evening ahead. The awards will take place at the Hilton Hotel in Gateshead, Newcastle. Date: 16th of March 2023
